canary - network monitoring

canary is a network monitoring and data graphing system inspired by what i didn't like about nagios, cacti, opennms, and others. more information about this project is coming soon.
Project Goals :

• no, or very little, text file configuration
• automagical item detection and configuration on a per device basis
• clearly defined statistics
• event history
• graphing of specific attributes
• ...

the system i've come to have was grown over a couple of years with each change inspired by something new i came across, or demanded as a feature request.
