AWS Certifications
I’ve got a few AWS certifications, and usually try to refresh or get a new one every year or two.
I’ll be keeping this document updated with general notes and advice I have on taking these exams. This is broad-strokes stuff that applies to all exams.
Gain Practical Experience
Whenever possible, try getting some hands-on experience with the subject matter. If nothing else, poking around the console for the services that will be on the example will help give context.
Find a Study Guide
AWS offers study guides for the exams, but I’ve found third parties can sometimes be even better and often have feedback from recent exam takers for up-to-date info on what to expect.
Take Practice Exams
I have a subscription to acloud.guru which has great practice exams. Leading up to taking an exam, I’ll do at least one a day.
Use a Testing Center
At-home exams are fine, but if you have the option taking the exam in a dedicated testing center may be less stressful and there are fewer things that can go wrong.
